Bio

In 2008, Remy graduated from business school with a MBA in Finance in the midst of the Financial Crisis, and his Wall Street career plans soon fizzled.  Given the meager opportunities of the job market, the economic landscape and in order to secure a visa, Remy created The Raisner Group to invest in real estate and in the depressed Brooklyn market of the era, with a vision to positively contribute to the reshaping of the local urban landscape.

Initially, The Raisner Group purchased distressed apartment buildings auctioned off by banks.  Since then, it has made instrumental contributions to the rebirth of Brooklyn.

Most of the firm’s investments have taken place in the emerging neighborhoods of Bushwick, Bed Stuy and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, where the Raisner Group has rehabilitated over 45 properties. As a leading actor of urban renewal, the company adopts a long-term vision and seeks deep local commitments to the neighborhoods it invests in, hand-in-hand with local stakeholders and communities. It seeks to bring its industry a global mindset and an innovator mentality.

In addition, since 2013, The Raisner Group has made venture capital investments in select real estate tech startups.  The firm also undertook its first co-living project in 2019. In 2022 and 2023, The Raisner Group was ranked amongst the 5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America by Inc. Magazine. It was also honored by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce for Historic Restoration.

Prior to being an entrepreneur, Remy worked as an equity trader for a hedge fund in New York, and as a private equity investor in Argentina.

Remy graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he wrote a thesis on the Economic Impact of Yugoslavia’s Political Evolution. He also holds a MBA from Columbia Business School with Dean’s List honors and is a CFA Chartherholder. He is a Member of NYPEN Real Estate and the Founder of Snap Back New York, a private, senior-level real estate networking group holding monthly meetings.
